In 2013, as part of my university curriculum, I dove into Android development for the first time. I built a couple of apps, among others:
- A todo list that can remind the user based on location or time
- An anti-theft app that plays an alarm signal at maximum volume when the USB cable is disconnected
- An animated dice that can be thrown by tapping the screen or shaking the device
- A really simple calculator (as my first app, like so many others did back then)
It was incredibly rewarding to see code I wrote running on an actual device—this moment ignited my passion for mobile development.
From that first APK, I knew: Android was where I belonged.
